What to Look for in a Mortar and Pestle
When it comes to one of the best gadgets for the kitchen it is not any electrical appliance. Nothing fancy at all in fact. It is something as simple as a good old fashioned mortar and pestle set. These are one of those items that belongs in all kitchens.
Choosing one brings up a number of issues. We have so many different ones to choose from that it can make the decision tough. What material to get?
Well, how about something sustainable? A bamboo mortar and pestle set is just that. It is a material that does not need to be replanted when cut down. All the underground root systems are still there and they contain new shoots. Almost immediately they will be growing and in a year or two it will look like nothing has happened. And actually the bamboo thicket may be even bigger than before it was cut down.
